About the work
Curationist Object Description
Darning is a technique used to repair torn or moth-eaten textiles. While patching uses a scrap of fabric to cover a hole or rip, darning uses yarn or thread to replicate the weave of the fabric. This silk and cotton sampler was created to show off various techniques that could be used to darn future textiles. One can view a whole plethora of samplers in this darning collection.
